If you don't write your story, you might explode.
You know this and you have no choice in the matter.

The time is now.

Writing your story can be simultaneously exciting, painful, and healing.  It is a tremendous feat to get words down on the page and then craft them into a book.  But now that you’ve got your manuscript, you might be wondering where to go from here. How can you improve your book’s readability and its capacity to reach a wide audience?  Would the book benefit from content and editing?  Would these edits result in more readers being able to access the heart of the book and receive its medicine?

Yes.  Yes.  And yes.

Writers can seek counsel from friends who might happily volunteer to be beta-readers. Beta-readers are great because you get to exercise your vulnerability muscle and practice having your writing seen. However, it is unlikely that beta-readers will be able to give you the kind of detailed feedback needed to take your book to the next level.  Besides, if your beta-readers are your friends, chances are they love whatever you create anyway and will not be able to give you objective feedback.

How I Can Help
As a recent author of memoir, I am well aware of the tremendous courage and vulnerability it takes to share your story with the world.  Especially if you are writing about experiences that are deeply personal, it is challenging to find the right person to entrust with your manuscript. I had great editors who did not judge the content or subject matter of the book, but instead gave suggestions from a place of integrity with an eye on crafting the story into a page-turner.

I also had not-so-great editors who gave feedback that hurt deeply because they were calling into question my own truth.  At a certain point, writers own their story and there is no amount of naysaying or critique from others that can ever touch them.  However, in the editing process, I personally believe that a very safe space, which honors the truth of the story, must be upheld.

Upon finishing my own book, a growing passion began to help others share their deepest truths.  With a master’s degree in English literature and twenty years of editing essays and stories from students, I felt it was high time I put these skills to use in serving the needs of brave writers who are ready to put their story out into the world.

Editing and Feedback:
How It Works

1. Apply
Due to the nature of my memoir and my own personal ethics,
I only accept manuscripts that serve humanity in the highest.
This means that the core message of your book is one that encourages
any (or all) of the following: healing, love, freedom, and truth.

Note that I only accept memoir and narrative nonfiction/creative nonfiction --
please no short stories, poetry or fiction.

To apply send an email to:

 lovespringpublishing@gmail.com

In your email include the following:

- A short (2-3) paragraph synopsis of your manuscript

- One paragraph that describes the purpose of your book:
Why did you write the book?  What is your book’s message?

- One sample chapter

2.  Wait 24-48 hours
When your application is received,
you will be contacted within 24-48 hours
if it is a match for editing and feedback services.

3. Make your payment
Once your manuscript is matched for the editing service,
you will receive an email with instructions on how to make your payment.

Editing and Feedback Package
Cost: $1499*

(*Two separate payments of $749.50 each can also be made.)

If your manuscript is not a match,
you will receive an email stating this and no payment is made.

4. Wait 8-10 weeks
Editing and feedback is thorough.
Depending on the length of your manuscript,
it can take up to 10 weeks to receive your line edits and suggestions
on ways you can improve your work.

5. Receive your feedback
You will receive an email with your manuscript and feedback.
Read it over and note any parts you wish to discuss further.

6. Meet with me
You will also receive a link to set up a meeting with me.
Once we've established the time, we will meet online
or over the phone to discuss your feedback.
I will provide the link to an online meeting.
The meeting will be approximately 1.5 hours.

If you have any questions or would like to sign up for a free 15 minute consultation first,
please send an email to:
lovespringpublishing@gmail.com
with the subject heading "Consultation"
and we can set up our meeting.

There is nothing more sacred than your truth.
It would be an honor to work with you as you share and express your truth in book form.
